    Psychological, physiological, and sociological effects of mood-altering substances and behaviors and their implications for the addiction process are discussed.     Examines procedures by which a counselor/program identifies and evaluates an individual's strengths, weaknesses, problems, and needs that will be used in the development of a treatment plan.
