The Chorale

. . . and the Tartan Chamber Singers provide vocal students with the opportunity to sing in a quality choral ensemble while a student at MCC. Both music majors and non-music majors participate in the choral program. The MCC choral program has gained the respect of organizations and institutions across the state of Texas by receiving invitations to perform at the Texas Educational Theatre Association, the Texas Music Educators Association, as well as collaborative performances with Baylor University, Mary Hardin Baylor University, the Waco Boys and Girls Choir, and Midway High School.

. . . provides students an opportunity to experience the various aspects of opera performance. Each year, the workshop performs a major production with orchestra in the Performing Arts Theatre. Past productions have included: Amahl and the Night Visitors, Cosi Fan Tutte, The Magic Flute, Pirates of Penzance, as well as many other smaller productions.

. . . is an auditioned performance venue for talented MCC students planning careers in music theatre.  Enhanced concert versions of Broadway musicals and scenes from the music theatre repertoire are presented at least once a semester.  Previous shows have featured such blockbusters as Les Miserables, Chicago, City of Angels, and Little Shop of Horrors. As a recruiting arm for the Visual & Performing Arts Division, SPOTLIGHT! also performs for service organizations, board meetings, and area schools.
