Howard Thompson came to MCC after a career of teaching choral music and in fine arts administration in the public schools. He now enjoys teaching Music Appreciation courses to non-majors and has served as the orchestra conductor for several of MCC’s musicals. He holds the Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Furman University in South Carolina, Master of Music in Musicology from Baylor University and has done work towards the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Texas in Austin.
Mr. Thompson is an active clinician and adjudicator in Texas music. He also is the Director of Music/Choirmaster at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Waco
