About the career: The over-the-road truck driver is an integral part of the transportation industry. Today's long haul trucks are equipped with the latest technological advances including onboard computers, customized cabins, and laser optics to monitor the health of the driver. Because of the demand for transportation services, more than 100,000 new drivers are needed this year.

What can I expect to earn? You will earn 35,000+ in your first year.

About the program: ATDS is one of the three schools in Texas that is certified with the Professional Truck Driver Institute, Inc. Non-profit Management Certificate

About the career: Non-profit organizations deliver the majority of community and charitable services in our nation. These volunteer organizations enhance the quality of life for individuals that may need a helping hand. To effectively manage a non-profit organization, staff must be trained on several aspects of the management and grant writing.

About the program: To earn a certificate, you must successfully complete online courses in Introduction to Nonprofit Management, Marketing Your Nonprofit, A to Z Grant Writing, and Writing Effective Grant Proposals.

Web Design Certificate

About the career: As the world becomes more dependent upon computer information, many organizations depend upon their web pages as their new branch location. As a web designer, you will design and maintain web pages that provide information regarding your organization and the link to the new electronic storefront.

What can I expect to earn? Web Designers can expect to earn more than $35,000 with just a few years of experience.

About the program: To earn the Web Development Certificate, you must successfully complete these online courses during a two year period: Creating Web Pages I, Creating Web Pages II, Creating Effective Web Pages, either FrontPage 2003 or Dreamweaver MX 2004, and Introduction to Flash MX 2004.

Supervisory Management Certificate

About the career: Most employers select their most knowledgeable workers as supervisors. However, these workers may not have the supervisory and leadership skills to be successful. As a supervisor you will be responsible for performing assigned tasks and projects by directing, coaching, supporting, and delegating tasks to your team members. Supervisors must have excellent problem solving and communication skills.

What can I expect to earn? Every organization will have different levels of compensation, but supervisors should earn more than $30,000 with just a few years of experience.

About the program: To earn the Supervisory Management Certificate, you must successfully complete two campus classes and three internet classes over a two year period. The campus classes are Introduction to Leadership Training and Advanced Leadership Training. You can choose three online classes from the following selection: Mastery of Business Fundamentals, Project Management Fundamentals, Accounting Fundamentals, Employment Law Fundamentals, or Effective Selling.
