English As A Second Language

Welcome to the study of English as a Second Language at McLennan Community College. Our ESOL courses are designed to help international and local students develop better written and spoken English fluency, for success in English leads to academic, personal, and professional successes.

Mission

The mission of the English as a Second Language (ESOL) component of the Department of English at McLennan Community College is to provide developmental level reading, writing, listening, and speaking training to our multi-cultural student body. Because the English Department endorses the Institution’s policy of open admissions, ESOL courses have been created to enable students to succeed in their educational, professional, and personal goals. To accomplish our mission, the ESOL courses focus on the following goals:

Facilities

The Writing Center in SC 222 offers free assistance for students in all MCC classes, especially reading and writing courses.
