Welcome to the webpage of the office of Research, Planning, and Information Technology. This office is responsible for managing the College’s information needs and resources through the use of planning, research, evaluation and assessment, and technology. The office is responsible for the following areas:
- Information Systems and Services
- Administrative Systems
Responsible for the College’s information management system (Colleague), instructional databases, Website databases, and the various decision support databases. - Client Systems
Responsible for user support related to software, Blackboard, PCs, printers, and other technology. - Infrastructure Systems
Responsible for data and communication integrity through the implementation and maintenance of servers, networks, and routers. - Institutional Research
Responsible for conducting surveys, needs assessments, longitudinal studies, and other research studies to support short-term and long-term decision-making and the College’s various planning processes. - Institutional Effectiveness
Responsible for all effectiveness reporting related to IPEDS, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board Bench Review, and Perkins measures and standards. Also responsible for student evaluation of faculty, grade distribution reports, and other evaluation activities. - Program Review, Planning, and Assessment
Responsible for operational and strategic planning, Perkins administration, program review, curriculum revision assistance, WECM coordination, internal audit, and student learning outcome assessment. - Educational Information Systems
Responsible for an integrated program of library service, resource management, and education for information literacy.
This office also coordinates accreditation activities including preparations for reaffirmation and substantive changes in the College’s programs and services.
