MCC recognized with two awards at national competition
The McLennan Community College Foundation and the MCC Public Information Office each earned bronze Paragon Awards in a national marketing competition sponsored by the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR).
The MCC Foundation earned an award in the category of "Best Community/Government Relations Campaign" for its communications efforts, led by staff member Kim Patterson, to introduce the First Generation College Student Initiative to the Waco community. The MCC Public Information Department earned an award in the category of "Best Computer-Generated Illustration" for the college's 2006 Kids College brochure, designed by Graphic Artist Clif-Ann Paris.
MCC representative Sara Green and Foundation representatives Kim Patterson and Harry Harelik accepted the awards March 20 at the NCMPR national conference in San Diego. A record number of more than 2,000 entries competed in the 22nd annual Paragon Awards competition sponsored by NCMPR. NCMPR is an affiliate of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) and represents marketing and public relations professionals at community, junior and technical colleges throughout the United States, Canada and the Bahamas.
