- 2008-2009 Scholarship Application Update
- New MCC Foundation scholarship applications for the 2008-2009 academic year
will be available Sept. 15th from the Foundation office or on the web site:
www.mclennan.edu/departments/foundation.
Because of the large numbers of applicants, the due date for applications
will be in January 2008. Recipients will be notified about their awards in
May next year and funds will be available for the following fall and spring
semesters.
- MCC Foundation Golf Tournament Oct. 5th
- For two decades, local golfers have eagerly anticipated the first Friday
in October and its harbinger of cooler weather and outdoor fun: the MCC Foundation
Golf Tournament. This year, the tournament will be on Friday, Oct. 5 at Cottonwood
Creek Golf Course. The Foundation is seeking sponsorships and raffle donations
for this tournament, so if you know an individual or business owner who would
like to support the tournament, please contact the MCC Foundation office at
rdeleon@mclennan.edu or phone 254-299-8604.
Also, players who would like to participate should contact the Foundation
office to be placed on the list for player invitations mailed in August.
- MCC Foundation Tax and Financial Planning Institute Nov. 13
- The third annual MCC Foundation Tax and Financial Planning Institute will be 8:15 a.m.-5:15 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 13 at the MCC Conference Center.
This full-day workshop, which presents current information on tax and estate planning, tax law, and other topics, is designed for area CPAs, attorneys, and financial advisors. Last year's seminar attracted more than 100 professionals from throughout Central Texas. The conference is offered through a partnership of the MCC Foundation with the Central Texas Chapter CPAs, the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association, the Heart of Texas Estate Planning Council and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Waco.
Cost is $175 per person and participants will receive eight hours of continuing education credit along with a continental breakfast, two snacks and a light lunch.
