Part-time students at McLennan Community College may now apply for scholarships to pay up to $500 for books per semester. Applications for the program, which is the only source of scholarship funds for part-time students at the college, are due by Nov. 30.

Students must meet the following criteria for the scholarship: be a part-time student enrolled in a minimum of six and a maximum of 11 credit hours at MCC, be enrolled in a degree or certificate program, have a grade point average of at least 2.5 and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship recipients will be required to attend a financial literacy class before the funds will be credited to their account at the MCC bookstore.

Applications for the book scholarships for the spring and summer 2010 semesters are available at www.mclennan.edu/departments/foundation/schol.html; hard copies of the application must be turned in to the MCC Financial Aid Office by 6 p.m. on Nov. 30.
