Transfer Student Application
The ADN program provides the opportunity for transfer students to be admitted to the program. Students must meet general admission requirements of MCC and the ADN program. Students should submit an Application for Transfer Student and all official transcripts and course descriptions and/or course syllabus of nursing courses.
To be eligible for transfer, a student must meet the minimum requirements for entry into the program, including Nurse Entrance Tests scores on reading and math at or above the national average; a GPA of 2.8 based on first science (BIOL 1407, BIOL 1408, BIOL 2404, CHEM 1405, or CHEM 1411), BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, and PSYC 2301; and an overall GPA of 2.8 in required nursing support courses.
Placement in nursing courses will be dependent upon transcript evaluation, space availability and recommendation of the Admissions Committee. Nursing courses completed more than 5 years from application date will not be accepted. The student may be asked to take a challenge test to determine placement in the curriculum. Priority will be given based on the GPA of academic and nursing courses taken at other schools.
Transfer students who are on probation or ineligible to return to their previous school will not be eligible for transfer.
