eSafe FAQs

What is eSafe?

"eSafe is a service that proactively protects MCC's network against viruses, spyware, worms, spam and non-productive content; enables real-time inspection of Internet traffic without reducing network performance; reduces the risk of P2P, IM, security exploits and blended threats; and enables lower total cost of ownership with an integrated, modular design." (www.esafe.com)

Can I respond to an eSafe message?

Once you receive a message from eSafe, please DO NOT attempt to respond to that email, it is an automatic computer generated message and will not accept any responses.

What do I do once I have received an eSafe report?

The report/s will specifically list each message that is in the filter with an ID number, Date, Subject, From and Action.  You will be able to click on the drop down arrow in the action column which will allow you to release the email to be forwarded to you or you can simply take no action and the email will be automatically deleted from the filter after 7 days.   After you review the email that contains the list of your quarantined messages, regardless of which action you take, you simply delete the email itself as you would normally delete other messages and empty your deleted items folder.

    1. Receive a quarantine report from esafe.
    2. Upon opening that email, review the list.
    3. If none of the emails are important, simply close and delete the report email.
    4. If one or more of the emails are important, click on the drop down arrow at the right of each email and choose "Release."
    5. Once all of the emails to release have been selected, click on "Submit Request" and a dialog box like below will appear.
    6. Click OK.
    7. A dialog box from Outlook like the one below may appear.   Once the Yes button becomes active, click on Yes to confirm the action to be taken.   (This may take a few seconds.)  If you don't click on the Yes, your operation will not be completed.
    8. Go into your Outlook Inbox and verify that the released messages are there, and then delete the quarantine report email.

How do I release messages from my eSafe report in Outlook 2007?

    2. In the Outlook Ribbon on the top of the email select "Other Actions," and select "View in Browser" from the drop-down menu.
    3. Once the browser window opens you will click on the drop down arrow at the right of each email and choose "Release."
    4. Once all of the emails to release have been selected, click on "Submit Request" and a dialog box like below will appear.
    5. Click OK.
    6. A dialog box from Outlook like the one below may appear.   Once the Yes button becomes active, click on Yes to confirm the action to be taken.   (This may take a few seconds.)  If you don't click on the Yes, your operation will not be completed.
    7. Go into your Outlook Inbox and verify that the released messages are there, and then delete the quarantine report email.

Does eSafe work for web access email?

The web access email release is not operational at this time, so you can only release quarantined emails from your Outlook desktop access.
