GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position contingent upon grant funding
Manage MCC's online tutoring program and coordinate online services provided by support personnel in the Math Lab and the Writing Center; ensure that distance education students have access to academic support services consistent with those provided to on-campus students; design, develop, pilot and recommend purchase of online supplemental instructional aids; catalog all online tutorial support functions and evaluate their effectiveness. This position reports to the Dean of Arts and Sciences.
Note: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's degree in education or a computer-related field.
Experience: One year of experience in an academic support program or tutorial laboratory setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master's degree preferred.
SELECTION CRITERIA

Ability to: (8) analyze online academic support needs of the campus and to develop a comprehensive plan; (9) investigate online tutorial opportunities outside the campus; (10) assist in the training of personnel engaged in providing online academic support; (11) perform duties with minimal direction; (12) work in a diverse environment and work across departmental lines; (13) be flexible and collaborative while developing online tutorial solutions.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical effort-restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis. Work environment-Minimal hazard/exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
