Continuing Education (continued)

About the department:

Continuing Education provides courses and activities for personal growth, skill development and career enhancement. Community is the focus of this division, which offers a wide variety of opportunities for Central Texans.

Such diverse instruction requires the talents of people from six different departments: Adult Basic Education, Community Programs, Corporate & Professional Training, Emergency Medical Services, Health & Human Services, and the Law Enforcement Academy. If you get a chance, visit them in the CSC, section A.

Most frequently asked questions of the department:

The most common request CE encounters is from community members wanting more details on classes. They call to find out what they'll be learning, who will be instructing them and what they can achieve by taking CE courses.

The Continuing Education Division has made sure that its main number, 299-8888, is easy to remember so that potential students can get information effortlessly. But that means the number is easy for non-CE students to remember, too. In fact, CE gets requests about financial aid, advising, applying to MCC and all kinds of credit course-related information--especially around registration time.

How the department has changed in the last year:

CE classes are continually changing to meet the interests and needs of the community.
