General Search Engine Search for Legislation Use this search if you know the congress session in which the bill was introduced or passed. If not, choose to "Search Multiple Congresses". If you know the bill number, select "Bill Number" from the drop box under "Enter Search." If you do not know the bill number, select "Word/Phrase" or see this guide's section on locating the bill number for a piece of legislation. Enter the name of the act or bill in "quotation marks". Depending on your search method, you may get many search results in which you have to select the matching legislation. You may also get one search result for the exact bill. When you reach the bill summary page, you will see the full title of the bill, the sponsor and date of introduction, and the latest action on the bill. You will also be given links to more information regarding the legislation: Text of Legislation, CRS Summary, Cosponsors, Committees, Congressional Actions, and Cost Estimates. /\ Search for Presidential Speeches, Statements, and Executive Orders Older presidential speeches and signing statements can be found
