MCC's fall registration open with expansion of eight-week course offerings
Posted: April 1, 2019
McLennan Community College's fall semester registration began April 8 with an expanded selection of eight-week course sections to choose from for the fall semester.
With eight-week courses, students spend the same number of hours in the classroom as they would in traditional 16-week courses, but courses are completed in half the time. The shorter time frame for the courses allows students to focus on two subjects per eight-week session rather than the four or five subjects taken in the traditional 16-week schedule. Studies show that students are more successful when attention is focused on fewer subjects, and they are less likely to get overwhelmed and drop courses. The eight-week offerings also allow more flexibility for scheduling and may allow students to earn a degree faster.
Fall semester registration continues through Aug. 24, and classes begin Aug. 26.
Current McLennan students may register 24 hours a day, seven days a week through WebAdvisor. New students should visit www.mclennan.edu/BeAHighlander to learn how to become a student at McLennan.
