February 27, 2008

Phi Theta Kappa will host Neil Miller, executive director of World Hunger Relief Inc., for a forum on "Globalization and Sustainable Agriculture" on Wednesday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. in MCC's Lecture Hall.

As part of Phi Theta Kappa's ongoing discussion on the Dynamics of Power, this presentation will focus on how globalization has affected agricultural practices around the world and the impact this has had on both the developed and developing world. The presentation will also help attendees better understand the politics and economic forces driving globalization in the area of agriculture.

Miller has a master's degree in agriculture and has worked on agriculture development projects across the United States, South America, Africa and Haiti. As executive director of World Hunger Relief Inc. (WHRI), he helps further the organization's mission to promote sustainable agricultural techniques and technologies across the world.

Joining Miller at the MCC presentation is Peter Zylstra-Moore, who has a degree in international development studies and is one of WHRI's interns preparing for work in the developing world.
