Pride & Joy brings the blues to River Sounds on June 12

May 29, 2008

River Sounds, a free concert series with music by regional and local bands, will feature Pride & Joy on June 12 at the Bosque River Stage. The concert begins at 8 p.m., and gates open at 7 p.m.

Pride & Joy blends blues, jazz, funk and rock to create what the Waco band dubs "electrified blues." The group packs a punch with songs that range from Santana-esque guitar riffs and smooth vocals on "Sentiments of Love" to funky drum beats and bass guitar on "Texas Hoochie Coo." The members of Pride & Joy are: Chris Castaneda (guitar/vocals), John Castaneda and Tony Castaneda.

River Sounds concert-goers may bring blankets, lawn chairs, food and drinks to the outdoor amphitheater and may choose lawn seating or one of the stadium-style seats. Concessions and restrooms will be available. For more information, call 299-8283 or visit www.bosqueriverstage.com.
