MCC and TSTC to host regional convention for honor society
February 20, 2009
About 500 students from community and technical colleges around the state will descend upon Waco to take part in the annual Phi Theta Kappa Texas Regional Convention, jointly hosted this year by McLennan Community College and Texas State Technical College on March 5-8.
As the international honor society for two-year colleges, Phi Theta Kappa seeks to encourage academic excellence among two-year college students and provide them with opportunities for leadership, service and fellowship.
The regional convention will include sessions for both official business and socializing. Phi Theta Kappa members and faculty advisors from around Texas will give panel presentations and workshops, participate in a game night and dance party, and visit Waco landmarks. Events will be held at MCC on March 5-6 and TSTC March 7-8.
