Law Enforcement Academy cadets at McLennan Community College will participate in a Posting of the Colors ceremony 8 a.m. Aug. 3 at the Emergency Services Education Center located at 7601 Steinbeck Bend Dr.
The Law Enforcement Academy cadets are the first students to begin classes in the 50,000-square-foot facility, which opened July 16.
"We are so proud to have this beautiful, state-of-the-art building where we can train our local first responders," said Danny Smith, director of the ESEC.
The ESEC represents a partnership between MCC, the City of Waco and McLennan County, and serves all fire, law enforcement and EMTs in McLennan County, as well as houses MCC's Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, and Emergency Medical Services programs. MCC's Law Enforcement and Fire Academies are also housed at the ESEC.
The facility includes a six-story burn tower, a large weight room and a large exercise room. Also included are a dining area and labs for EMS and forensic science students.
