Deadline for part-time students to apply for book scholarships is Nov. 30

Students who will be enrolled part time at McLennan Community College in the spring and summer 2010 semesters have until Nov. 30 to apply for scholarships to pay up to $500 for books per semester.
Students must meet the following criteria for the scholarship: be a part-time student enrolled in a minimum of six and a maximum of 11 credit hours at MCC, be enrolled in a degree or certificate program, have a grade point average of at least 2.5, and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship recipients will be required to attend a financial literacy class before the funds will be credited to their account at the MCC bookstore.
Applications for the book scholarship, which is the only source of scholarship funds for part-time students at the college, are available at www.mclennan.edu/departments/foundation/schol.html. Hard copies of the application must be turned in to MCC's Financial Aid Office by 6 p.m. on Nov. 30.
