Highlander Ranch riding instructor earns national certification
November 6, 2009
Aimee Edwards, a horseback riding instructor at McLennan Community College's Highlander Ranch, has been selected as a certified clinician with the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA). In this role, Edwards will be responsible for certifying other riding instructors for CHA.
To qualify as a CHA clinician, Edwards had to first become a CHA-certified master instructor, which qualified her to teach at the highest levels of both English and Western horsemanship. She received the clinician designation after demonstrating a high level of knowledge and ability as a horsemanship instructor, as well as a desire to improve the quality and safety of riding programs.
Edwards, a resident of China Spring, has been a professional in the horse industry since 1995.
CHA is a non-profit organization that certifies riding instructors and accredits riding facilities. The purpose of CHA is to promote excellence in safety and education for the benefit of the entire horse industry.
