Support & Empowerment Program for Single Parents and Homemakers Re-entering the Workforce
Are you ready for a new beginning? We are here to support you!
If you are a single parent or a homemaker reentering the workforce, McLennan Community College offers special services to help you succeed in college and in life. This program began in 1979 as a community service of the Junior League of Waco, Inc. Since that time this program has helped more than 7,000 students discover within themselves the strength to begin a new life.
What We Do:
Support students emotionally, academically, and financially through relationships, support meetings, and childcare & transportation funding through the Carl Perkins Grant.

- Funds for Child Care or Transportation
- Stress Management
- Support Meetings
Eligible Students:
- Single parents & single pregnant women enrolled in workforce program
- Homemakers enrolled in workforce programs who have been widowed, left, divorced, or have a disabled spouse

Instructions for Summer 2010 Applications:
Note: Current SEP students receive priority placement, all others will be on waitlist for availability of funds.
- Read the program guidelines
- Print out the Summer Application and Application Checklist. Complete the application (s), print out the required paperwork from the Application Checklist. (You may use our computer in OSB 101.)
- Turn in your application to our office in OSB 101 by 5:00 p.m. on May 3rd. You MUST have everything complete before we will accept your application.

- Print out the Fall Application and Application Checklist. Complete the application (s), print out the required paperwork from the Application Checklist. (You may use our computer in OSB 101.)
- Turn in your application to our office in OSB 101 by 5:00 p.m. on August 2nd. You MUST have everything complete before we will accept your application.
