Beginning in summer 2009, McLennan Community College will no longer be using the College Works by Web Link to apply for work-study jobs. If you are interested in applying for a College Work Study position, follow these easy step-by-step instructions:

  1. Complete the work-study application.
    • Enter your personal information and specify skills and experience - please be detailed, as if you are submitting a resume. This is your employment application.
  2. You can apply for up to three jobs from the positions listed; in order to indicate interest, you must include the job title(s) and employer information on your application.
  3. Submit your application online.
  4. Your application will be forwarded to Maria Macias, Financial Aid Specialist.
  5. Your work-study eligibility will be determined and your application forwarded to the supervisor(s) of your selected positions.
  6. Incomplete applications will not be considered for employment.
  7. If you are selected by the department to fill the position, a criminal background investigation will be conducted. If the investigation yields satisfactory results, you are eligible to be hired. If the investigation yields unsatisfactory results, you are not eligible to participate in MCC’s college work-study program.
  8. Once you are offered the position, you MUST visit the Financial Aid Office to complete the hiring process.

Requirements:

  • You must be enrolled in courses with MCC.
  • You must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.ed.gov to become eligible for College Work-study positions.

Please inform the Financial Aid Office at (254) 299-8698 if you experience any difficulties or if you have any suggestions for improvement with this new application process. Thank you.
