During peak request periods, the processing time changes to 48 hours due to the increase in the number of requests.
Certain holds on a student's record will prevent a transcript from being printed and released. Commencement
Graduation Requirements
A student may graduate with the associate's degree according to the degree requirements in effect at the time of first enrollment in college credit courses. From the date of that initial enrollment, the student has five years to complete an associate's degree (AA, AS, AAS). After five years, the student will be subject to any new degree requirements that may be in effect when the student next enrolls. The appropriate dean must approve exceptions to these requirements.
A Health Science student seeking an associate's degree must complete degree requirements within five years of initial program acceptance and enrollment. A Health Sciences student seeking a certificate must complete certificate requirements within three years of initial program acceptance and enrollment.
Graduation Application Deadlines
To be considered a candidate for a certificate or a degree, the student shall submit a Graduation Application to the Student Record's Office on or before the published deadline.
Deadlines for filing an application shall be as follows:
- Fall Semester Graduates - Last Friday in October
- Spring Semester Graduates - Second Friday in February
- Summer Session Graduates - Second Thursday in June
Ceremony
The nature of commencement exercises at McLennan Community College is ceremonial rather than official. Each Fall, Spring and Summer applicant is notified by mail in regard to his or her graduation status after the graduation application deadline. The college invites all Fall graduates to participate in the Spring graduation ceremony since the school does not have a ceremony at the end of the Fall semester.
If you would like a duplicate diploma printed, please submit a Duplicate Diploma/Certificate Application to the Office of Records and Registration.
