ABOUT THE TARTAN SCHOLARS PROGRAM
The Tartan Scholars Program is an honors program that includes 15-30 full-time or part-time MCC students. New scholars are selected each spring, and students who have been chosen as Tartan Scholars enjoy the various benefits of the program. These benefits include:
- A scholarship that pays tuition and fees up to 18 credit hours for four semesters, excluding summer semester.
- a book allowance each semester for books and/or required supplies
- a varied curriculum of honors courses chosen from the MCC Core Curriculum
- and opportunities for mentoring, giving community service, and takinng field trips.
To be considered for the program, an applicant must:
- Be enrolled or plan to enroll full-time or part-time at MCC.
- Have a college GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Have a high school grade average of B or higher.
- Have passed THEA or be THEA-exempt.
