Articulation Process
Step 1: Apply for admission to the College within 15 months after high school
graduation.
Step 2: Take a copy of your high school transcript to the Tech Prep office,
Applied Science Building, Room 219.
Step 3: Complete the Petition for Articulated Credit.
The following agreements are in place between MCC and the school districts.
- Students who have fulfilled the learning outcome objectives on the completion of the articulated high school course and who are recommended as being competent in the subject matter will be recognized for articulated credit at MCC.
- Articulated credit will only be granted to students who took the articulated course during their junior or senior year of high school or through a Tech Prep sequence of courses.
- The student must meet all admission requirements to MCC and enroll within 15 months after high school graduation.
- The student must petition for the articulated credit within 15 months after high school graduation in the Tech Prep office at MCC.
- McLennan Community College will post articulated credit on the MCC transcript when the student completes six non-developmental college hours at the College with a grade point average of 2.0 or better.
- Articulated credit does not affect a student's college grade point average, but will be included in accumulated college hours attempted and earned.
- Articulated credit will only be granted to students who took the identified course when an official articulation agreement was in place between the school district and McLennan Community College.
- Advanced Technical credit will only be granted to students whose school district participates in the Advanced Technical credit program, the teacher is Advanced Technical Credit certified, and the credit is approved by the Division Director of Business Programs at MCC.
