Welcome to the McLennan Community College Writing Center
As you return to campus or enter college for the first time, you will find the help you need for all matters of writing at the MCC Writing Center.
Services
- Help with class essays, research papers, academic writing, letter writing, and résumés
- Aided instruction through computer tutorials and ESL/ESOL software
- Word processing help

Guidelines
- You must bring your Student ID to use the Writing Center
- Bring your assignment sheet, writing draft, and source materials.
- Our goal is to help you learn how to review your own work.
- Have specific questions/goals when you come.
- Come early; don't wait until the last minute.
- Sign in at the front computer.
- If the lab is busy, please wait for the next available instructor.
- Know what course you are enrolled in and the name of your instructor.
- Work quizzes without help from others.

Instructors:
Matt Cardin — Instructor, Developmental Reading and English
I hold a B.A. in communication from the University of Missouri and an M.A. in religious studies from Missouri State University. In addition to being a professional writer and teacher, I have worked in video/media production, corporate communications, and piano sales. My family and I moved to the Waco area from southwest Missouri in 2008.

Wanda Sudbury — Sr. Lab Instructor
I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and a master’s degree from Baylor University. I enjoy teaching English and reading skills in the Writing Center. My hobbies include reading and singing in my church choir.

Arthur "Wes" Wellborn — Instructional Specialist
I earned B.A., M.Ed., and M.A. degrees from Wayland University in Plainview, Texas. After spending 25 years in ministry and religious education, I transitioned to the college setting. I have been with the Writing Center since 2007 and thoroughly enjoy being part of the MCC Community. I enjoy motorcycle touring in my spare time.
