Meet Serena Marquez, a first-generation college student and MAC Grant Scholar, who began her college career at MCC and has now received her Master’s in Accountancy from Baylor University!

During her time at MCC, Serena joined the Honors College, served on Student Council, and participated in events with the Presidential Scholars. After graduating from MCC, Serena was awarded a full-tuition scholarship to Baylor University by the MAC Program (now Duncan Scholars). At Baylor, she became a peer leader and ambassador for the First in Line program, and graduated debt-free with her Bachelor’s in Business Administration and Master’s of Accountancy this August. Additionally, she has already accepted a position as an Audit Associate at KPMG in Houston, TX and will continue to study for her CPA license!



Meet MCC Alumna and Texas Tech University at Waco student, Emily Santander!

MCC Alumna and Texas Tech University at Waco student, Emily Santander, is headed back to first grade! While attending MCC, Emily was introduced to Texas Tech’s TechTeach Across Texas program at Texas Tech Waco and just recently began her first full year of student teaching at La Vega Elementary. Because of the University Center at MCC, Emily was able to stay in Waco, close to her family and friends, and still earn her bachelor’s degree while taking advantage of all of the wonderful programs offered by Texas Tech University!
