Wifi Assistance

Wireless Name:

MCC

Plase note:
  • Students must use the MCC wifi network
  • Your account will not provide access to any other wifi network run by McLennan Community College
  • If you try to log into a different wifi network, you will receive username & password errors
Tips:
  • Username: first-name initial last-name initial 7-Digit MCC ID (i.e., jd1234567)
  • Password: the same one used for Brightspace and student email

  • Password: the same one used for campus computers and email

Wireless Name:

MCC-Guest

McLennan Community College has a dedicated Guest Wi-Fi access point (named 'MCC-Guest') for all non-MCC individuals, including visitors and official vendors. Guests are required to fill out a Guest Portal Request form to receive their 24-hour access.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are a student or employee of MCC, the Guest Wi-Fi portal WILL NOT WORK.

  • Students will use the 'MCC' wireless network and log in the same way they would with Brightspace
  • Employees will use the 'McLennan' wi-fi network and use the same credentials that log them into their workstation computer, employee email, or Brightspace

CONNECTING TO THE 'MCC-GUEST' NETWORK AUTOMATICALLY
  1. On your wireless device (tablet, laptop, phone, etc), select the 'MCC-Guest' wi-fi network and hit 'Connect'.
  2. Next, your device's internet browser should open to a log-in page. If this does not automatically happen on your device, using your device's internet browser, try manually typing in a URL (such as www.msnbc.com). Make sure this is a website that is NOT on your browsing history or favorites list, and that you physically type in the entire website URL. This should redirect you to the username and password (Guest Portal) page.
  3. On the Guest Portal login page, under the 'Sign On' button, you will click on the option 'Create an account?'
  4. Fill out the form presented to you on this page. Be sure you use a valid email address, as your username and password information for MCC-Guest will be sent to this email.
  5. Once the form is completed, click the 'Register' button.
  6. You will then be forwarded to a "success" page, prompting you to check the email address you provided for your 24 hour username and password for MCC-Guest:
  7. Please allow 3 - 5 minutes for the verification email to be delivered to your personal email account.
  8. The email will provide you with a full list of information, including your username, password, and timestamps for when the account will be active. If you haven't received this email within 5 minutes, please check your spam folder.
  9. PLEASE NOTE: This account will be valid for 24 hours. After the 24 hour timestamp (as given in your approval email) has lapsed, you must repeat the above process to request an additional 24 hours.
