Psychological Services Bureau (PSB)

The Testing Center is unable to provide access to the PSB exam at this time. The PSB entrance exam has been waived for the MCC LVN to RN transition program for the March 31, 2020 application deadline, and the MCC ADN program for the May 28, 2020 application deadline.

The Psychological Services Bureau (PSB) examination is specifically designed for those students entering education programs for health professions, and is used as part of the admissions process for MCC's ADN program. The PSB Exam is comprised of a series of tests that measure abilities, knowledge, and attitudes considered important for successful performance in a health program.

Examinees taking the PSB exam will test in the following subject areas: Academic Aptitude, Spelling, Reading Comprehension, Natural Science, and Vocational Adjustment. The MCC Testing Center administers testing for the PSB exam throughout the year. See upcoming dates below.

$30.00 (plus $3.50 service fee)

MCC Testing Center fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Students will be required to schedule a new appointment and repay any testing center fees, if they do not reschedule prior to their scheduled appointment time, if they arrive late, or do not show for their scheduled appointment.

Students are permitted to take the PSB twice per application cycle they are applying. The ADN program has a policy that states the exam may not be retaken within a 30-day period. If the candidate tests more than twice or retakes the exam during this period, the administration is considered invalid, the score is cancelled, and exam fees are forfeited.

Requests for the 30-day waiting period to be waived may be sent to Thelda Jones at for the ADN program. All approved requests must be sent in writing to the MCC Testing Center at by the program director.

A valid, unexpired photo ID is required for all testing. Acceptable forms of government-issued IDs include a driver's license, state ID card, passport, military ID, national ID, tribal ID, naturalization card, certificate of citizenship, or permanent resident card (Green Card). A photo or photocopy of an ID is not acceptable. Photos must be clear and recognizable. Student IDs are acceptable for the following exams: MCC MPE, MCC Course Exams, Correspondence Exams, and TSIA.

You will receive a copy of your score report upon completion of your exam.

The PSB begins promptly at the times listed below.

The MCC Testing Center works closely with Accommodations (Disability Services) to provide services for students with ADA accommodations. Testing candidates requiring testing accommodations must register first with Accommodations. The registration process with Accommodations should be done in a timely manner to allow enough reasonable time for the Testing Center to prepare all testing accommodations.

Once testing accommodations have been approved, the student must inform the MCC Testing Center of his or her approved testing accommodations, so their RegisterBlast account can be appropriately set-up prior to registering for an exam. Students who do not follow these steps run the risk of not having their testing accommodations for that exam.

See the Requesting Accommodations webpage for process information. See webpage for ACT & SAT, CLEP, and HiSet for information on how to request accommodations for these exams.

Your college or university must submit a Letter of Accommodation to the MCC Testing Center before any testing accommodations will be provided. Email to or fax to 254-299-6200 Attn: Testing Services.

Note: Any student who has approved accommodations and who cannot see or select their approved testing accommodation when registering for an exam should contact the MCC Testing Center immediately and prior to registering for any exams.
