Eduardo Martinez
A native of the Dominican Republic, flutist Eduardo A. Martinez joins McLennan Community College as Flute and Mariachi Instructor. In demand as soloist, chamber artist, and orchestral flutist, recent engagements include Principal Flute on world tour orchestras with Sarah Brightman, Josh Groban, Il Divo, and Yandel's Sinfónico, piccolo with the Amarillo Symphony, and solo performances at the French-Czech Academy in Telč and for the National Flute Association. Recent recitals include St. Procopius Basilica in Třebíč and guest artist at East Texas A&M University and University of Texas at Tyler. He can be heard on Thomas Sleeper: Music for Flute. An advocate for Latin American and Caribbean repertoire, he programs the music of the Americas alongside standard literature. His doctoral research on Tania León's Del Caribe, Soy! produced a transcription performed by the work's dedicatee, Néstor Torres, in Miami in 2026. A clinician for an El Sistema-based foundation in the Dominican Republic, he also presents masterclasses at home and abroad. Dr. Martinez serves on the Collin College music faculty and maintains a private studio of more than sixty students in the Rockwall and Forney school districts. A member of Pi Kappa Lambda, he holds the DMA and MM from the University of North Texas, where he studied with Regents Professor Mary Karen Clardy and served as Teaching Fellow, Director of the Flute Choir, and Chamber Music Coach, and the BM from the University of Miami as a student of Trudy Kane, emeritus principal flute of the Metropolitan OperaOffice: BPAC 101 * Phone: 254-299-8258 * Email: emartinez@mclennan.edu
