What You'll Do
Medical Assistants wear two hats, clinical and administrative, which means no two days look the same. On the clinical side, you'll:
- Take vital signs and run basic patient tests.
- Administer medications.
- Assist providers during patient visits.
On the office side, you'll:
- Schedule appointments and greet patients.
- Manage patient records and filing systems.
- Handle billing and insurance paperwork.
What You'll Learn
MCC's Medical Assistant program is a two-year associate degree that combines classroom learning, hands-on lab work, and real clinical experience. You'll graduate ready to step into a Medical Assistant role — and ready to take the national certification exam to become a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
Where This Can Take You
Becoming a Medical Assistant is often just the beginning. Many of our graduates step into leadership roles in physicians' offices, while others use this degree as a stepping stone to become nurses, providers, or other healthcare professionals.
