Gather information
- Search for current courses offered.
- Review current degrees & certificates and our Pathways.
- Gather required documents (see step 3).

- MCC accepts applications for admissions through both our Institutional Application (link below) and ApplyTexas. There is no fee for either application.
- If you did not attend MCC during the last calendar year, submit an updated application.

Apply for financial aid
- Fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
- Explore MCC scholarships and other financial aid options.

Transcripts
- Never attended college? Send your official high school transcript or GED or High School Equivalency scores.
- Request a transcript by contacting your high school.
- Request your certificate for GED or high school equivalency scores.
- Transfer student or previous college experience? Send official transcripts from every college you attended. Use GetMyTranscript.com or contact your previous college's registrar.
Test scores
To determine your readiness for college-level courses, MCC will need your Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA or TSIA2) scores, or you may provide proof of exemption.
- Check whether you are TSI-exempt.
- Submit TSIA or TSIA2 scores
- Need to take the test? Register to take the exam at MCC.
- Already taken the test? Request digital delivery of your scores through ACCUPLACER or complete the TSIA Request Form.
Shot record
- Under 22 and attending classes on campus? Texas law requires proof of the bacterial meningitis vaccine. Find out how to submit it.
- Taking online classes only? You do not need to submit a shot record.
Transcripts and shot records may be delivered by mail or in person to Highlander Central in the Enrollment Services Center. Test scores must be submitted through a secure digital source — Highlander Central can no longer accept printed test scores brought in by the student.
- Never attended college? Send your official high school transcript or GED or High School Equivalency scores.

- Watch for a welcome email from Mac T. Highlander in your student email account, then log in to Brightspace and start Highlander Prep.
- Complete Badge 1 before you meet with an advisor.
- We strongly encourage you to finish the full course — it sets you up for a strong start at MCC.

Before meeting with your advisor, make sure you submitted everything in Step 3 (transcripts, test scores, shot record) and Step 4.
- Plan to meet with your advisor. MCC requires students to meet with an advisor each semester.
- Check your account for holds — you must clear them before you can register.

Register and pay
For tech support, email helpdesk@mclennan.edu.
- Register for classes in MyMCC.
- Review the payment deadlines for your semester.
- If you are receiving a Pell grant or federal loan, your tuition will automatically be deducted from your account. Any funds remaining will be distributed to you according to your refund preferences.
- Pay online in MyMCC, by mail, or at the Business Office.
Get connected
- Attend New Student Orientation — parents have a special track, too.
- Check your new MCC student email daily. It is used for all MCC communications.
- Pick up your student ID and parking sticker at the Business Office, or order your ID online.
- You will need to bring your license plate number to the Business Office when picking up your parking sticker.
Prepare for the First Day of Class
- Buy textbooks online or at the McLennan Bookstore in the Michaelis Academic Center.
- Some classes include textbooks as part of the course, so you may not need to purchase them separately. Check course details or ask your instructor for confirmation.
- If you plan to use your remaining financial aid to buy books, visit the Business Office to get your ID card, as you will need to present this at the bookstore to complete your purchase.
- Log in to MyMCC and check your class schedule under Academic Profile.
- Log in to Brightspace using your MCC username and password to access your course materials, syllabi, and assignments.
- If a class doesn't appear in Brightspace, check with your instructor — some courses go live closer to the start date.
