About

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) supports the MCC mission in four overlapping ways:

  1. supporting instructors in their development as expert teachers;
  2. facilitating and supporting a ‘community of practice’ in which dedicated teachers interact, learn and support each other;
  3. training and supporting faculty with educational technologies and curriculum development; and
  4. collaborating with other departments to bring our andragogic perspectives to joint endeavors.

Hours and Location:

The Faculty and Staff Commons area is located in the Learning Technologies Center (LTC) room 222.

It is available for faculty use:

Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

CTL staff are available by phone and in person:

Monday-Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (summer hours)

Services

The CTL staff is available to provide support. Some of the support and services provided include:

  • Supporting faculty in developing and evaluating online courses;
  • Supporting faculty in utilizing “best practice” strategies, in any classroom setting;
  • Troubleshooting Brightspace course issues; and
  • Supporting faculty in implementing new teaching strategies

The Faculty and Staff Commons area also has:

  • Media rooms for recording and editing content; and
  • A green screen room to customize videos.
