Campus Update February 19, 2022

Dear Campus Community,

As we continue to see the COVID-19 situation improve locally, the Emergency Operations Team decided yesterday that it is an appropriate time to make a change in our face covering guidance.  Starting on Monday, February 21, 2022, our guidance will change to encouraging unvaccinated individuals to wear facemasks and practice physical distancing.  Guidance with recommendations for the safety of unvaccinated individuals is available on the COVID-19 webpage.  We continue to encourage individuals to make decisions based on what they feel is appropriate.  Anyone is welcome to continue wearing a face covering.  We appreciate everyone showing courtesy and kindness to those who may or may not be wearing a face covering.

Our best defense against COVID-19 is for everyone to take advantage of the widely available vaccines.  For information on sites near you to receive one of the vaccines, visit https://www.vaccines.gov/search/

It is important to continue to self-assess your health and self-report if you have any COVID-19 symptoms.  McLennan Community College will continue tracking all positive cases and reporting information on our webpage.

The Leadership Team, with the help of Frank Patterson and Lisa Elliott, will continue to monitor all COVID-19 developments.  If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to email covid19@mclennan.edu.
