Student Update - March 25, 2020

The following message was sent to students on March 25, 2020.

Good morning, students!

I hope this update finds you all safe and healthy. I know we have sent you several emails over the past few weeks, but I want to make sure you are all updated on anything that might affect you as a McLennan Community College student. Here are a few items I thought you might want to know about:

  • All classes and student success services will be provided online for the rest of the semester. Please remember, the services previously available to you on campus are now available online. I realize it is not ideal for all services; however, our faculty and staff are happy to help you get through this semester and continue to be successful at MCC. Please see our Campus Resource Guide for more information on our services or see our Contact Us page.
  • The McLennan Bookstore is offering our students access to several eBooks at no additional cost through RedShelf. Details may be found at www.follett.com/RedShelf.
  • NEW: The McLennan Bookstore is also offering free ground shipping with no minimum order. While shipping is the recommended method of delivery, other arrangements may be made for students by calling 254-299-8456.
  • We have created an Internet Resources page with information about free or inexpensive Internet services. Please be sure to review all the details and fine print before signing up for any service, so you know exactly what is expected of you.
  • Our Technology staff sent you a short email yesterday with information about our Tech Support, but I think it is important enough to include some information here, too.
    • Phone: 254-299-8077 (M-Th, 7:30 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. & Fri, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
    • After Hours Phone: 254-717-6349 (M-Th, 6:30 p.m. – 11 p.m.; Fri, 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sat & Sun 9 a.m. – 11 p.m.)
    • Email: helpdesk@mclennan.edu

The faculty, staff, and leadership at McLennan are committed to providing you with the best student experience possible during this difficult time. Please refer to the Completion Center if you need to talk to someone. There will be a response.

I know the creation of the upheaval in your whole life from the COVID-19 virus is scary and a significant hardship when you are already juggling school, work, family, and life’s uncertainties.  I want you to know that your McLennan Community College family is here to help. Please permit us to work with you as we determine how to serve you best.  We do need to hear from you about your struggles. My encouragement is to stay focused as much as you can on your studies, access the resources we are providing, and take care of yourself and your family. Stay well.
