Welcome back, Students!

I hope you have enjoyed the Winter break, and I wish you a happy and safe 2021. If you have not already registered for the Spring 2021 semester, please be sure to meet with your advisor to register as soon as possible. If you have already met with your advisor, you may register through WebAdvisor.

Register for Spring 2021

The campus is open, and we are eager to help you with registration, advising, COVID-19 questions, and other resources. We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and adjust as needed.

Spring 2021 classes will begin on Monday, January 11. Remember, we have traditional 16-week courses as well as 8-week courses, so you can choose the types of classes that suit your schedule. Both our traditional 16-week courses and first 8-week courses begin on Monday, January 11, and our second 8-week courses begin on Monday, March 15. Be sure to meet with your advisor and register as soon as possible in order to get the classes and schedule you need to continue through to graduation.

To promote healthy behaviors on campus, I ask that you continue to practice safety protocols as outlined on our COVID-19 website. These steps will help us to remain safe and to keep the campus open:

  • Make sure you wear a face covering and wear it properly when in public.
  • Practice social distancing at all times.
  • Avoid large gatherings.
  • Wash your hands regularly.
  • Self-Assess your health before returning to campus as well as every day before coming to campus.
    • Remember, if you exhibit any COVID-19 symptoms or have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, please fill out the form on McLennan’s self-reporting portal.
    • If you have been in contact with someone with the virus or if you have symptoms of the virus or COVID-like symptoms, please remember to stay at home to protect your fellow students and our employees. This is very important.

All of us at MCC are hopeful for a continuing improved environment in 2021. If you have any questions about your personal situation or any college plans, you may email covid19@mclennan.edu or visit our COVID-19 website.

Finally, thank you again for helping keep McLennan a safe learning environment. We cannot do this without you. We all do care about you individually and also know that fears still exist, but we can absolutely do this together.

Sending best wishes for safety for you, your families, and your friends,

Johnette McKown
