Hello, Highlanders!

As we approach the holidays, I encourage you to take advantage of MCC’s free COVID rapid testing in the Simulation Lab building. This testing center is open to MCC and University Center employees, students, and family members. For many of us, we plan to travel and gather with our families and friends. Please consider testing prior to these gatherings in order to protect the ones you love from COVID-19. Remember, you may not have symptoms of COVID, but you may be able to give it to someone who is susceptible to a lengthy illness or worse.

Also, I encourage you to get tested when you return to campus in order to protect your professors, other students, and MCC’s staff. Again, you may not have symptoms, but you may still transmit COVID to someone else on campus.

For more information and to schedule a free test at MCC, go to https://engage.mclennan.edu/portal/covid19_testing.

Also, I want to let you know that we plan to have another vaccination clinic next week, Thursday, Nov. 11, in the MAC Commons between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

If you have not gotten a vaccination yet, now is the perfect time. MCC and University Center students and their family members are encouraged to attend, but the clinic is open to anyone. Register for your vaccination at https://covidwaco.com/. Click the blue “VACCINE Appointment -or- WALK-IN” button to get started.

All 3 vaccines will be offered at our clinic as well as boosters. For more information about the booster shots, go to: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/booster-shot.html

We are one of only a few clinics in Waco able to provide shots to children between 5-11. So, when you register yourself, register your child to keep them protected.

Finally, I am thankful for each of you and your support as we continue to navigate toward more normal operations within safety guidance.
