Aidan Kekoalani Kuni

Aidan Kekoalani Kuni

Aidan Kekoalani Kuni is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics.  

When asked what influenced his academic success, Aidan says, “I would like to thank my coaches, professors, the faculty, my teammates, and most importantly my parents for their support during my time at MCC.”

Aidan plans to continue his education and baseball career at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, majoring in business.

Allison Marie Boylan

Allison Marie Boylan is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics.

When asked what influenced her academic success, Allison says, “Above all, my Savior, husband, parents, siblings, and other family and friends for they have never turned their backs on my dreams. They instill a faith and trust that I am willing and capable of accomplishing all dreams and victories.”

Allison plans to continue her education by pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

 

Alyssa Lynn Burks

Alyssa Lynn Burks

Alyssa Lynn Burks is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics and an Associate of Arts with Field of Study in Communication Studies.

When asked what influenced her academic success, Alyssa says, “I would like to thank my family especially my parents, Kim and Elijah Burks, for being my biggest supporters. I would also like to thank Dr. McKown, Lindsey Vanek, and all those with the Presidential Scholars for providing me with advice, support, and numerous opportunities for education. Hook ’em!”

Alyssa plans to continue her education by pursuing a journalism degree at the University Texas at Austin.

Amanda Grace Winstead

Amanda Grace Winstead is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics

When asked what influenced her academic success, Amanda says, “Much of my academic success is thanks to my parents, whom I never wanted to let down. However, I have to give all of the credit to the Lord because ultimately everything I do is for Him.”

Amanda is undecided on her plans to continue her education at Tarleton State University following a gap year to serve with Youth With a Mission in Kona, Hawaii.

Amaya Monique Johnson is receiving an Associate of Arts with Field of Study in Social Work.  

When asked what influenced her academic success, Amaya says, “First, I would like to thank God, my way-maker, without him none of this would be possible. I also want to express gratitude towards my family who have remained my pillars of strength as they have offered me endless love and encouragement. Finally, I’d like to say thank you to all of my professors who have gifted me with the fruit of knowledge and integrity.”

Amaya plans to continue her education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in social work at the University of Texas at Arlington. 

Antonianett Fernandez Garcia

Antonianett Fernandez Garcia

Antonianett Fernandez Garcia is receiving an Associate of Arts with Field of Study in Social Work.

When asked what influenced her academic success, Antonianett says, “I would like to thank Laura Crapps and Holly Towns, my navigators in TRIO SSS. They have helped me through my whole journey here at MCC and have set me on a path to success. Secondly, I would like to thank all of the MCC staff because they have all helped prepare me for academic achievement. I would also like to thank my husband, his family, and my friends for being so supportive of me when I most needed it. Above all, I thank God for the many opportunities he blessed me with during my time at MCC.”

Antonianett plans to continue her education by pursuing a social work degree at Baylor University. After obtaining a bachelor’s degree, she would like to work with incarcerated adolescents to help rehabilitate and empower them for a better future.

Brandi Lyn Willford is receiving an Associate of Arts with Field of Study in Social Work

When asked what influenced her academic success, Brandi says, “First and most importantly, I would like to thank my husband Chris for putting up with me, my friends and family for their support, and Nicole for being my cheerleader from the very beginning when I thought I wouldn’t make it through Algebra. Finally, I would like to thank the professors who guided me along the way.”

Brandi plans to continue her education at the University of Phoenix.

Colton Brady Dool

Colton Brady Dool is receiving an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapy Assistant.

When asked what influenced his academic success, Colton says, “Firstly, I thank Jesus Christ for giving me the peace and strength needed to succeed. Furthermore, I thank my father and mother for their continual support and faithful prayer, along with my sister's willingness to stay up late at night and study with me. I thank my friends and church family for their prayers, supportive words, and actions during my educational journey. If not for these great people and the direction and provision I have received from my Lord Jesus Christ, I would not be the man or the successful student I have become.”

Colton plans to continue his education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree on the MCC campus.

Emmanuel Gallardo is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics.

When asked what influenced his academic success, Emmanuel says, “I would like to thank my parents for raising me to be successful. I would also like to thank my dual credit counselor for guiding me on my academic journey.”

Emmanuel plans to continue his education at Midwestern State University.

Gema Yamileh Chavez is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics.

When asked what influenced her academic success, Gema says, “I would like to thank my mom, my family, my school friends and dance friends, my professors, and my school, La Vega High School.”

Gema plans to continue her education by pursuing a finance degree at Baylor University.

Hannah Jane Alcantara Porcare is receiving an Associate of Arts with Field of Study in Nursing.

When asked what influenced her academic success, Hannah says, “To my mom and my brother for being my number one supporters these past two years, to all of my friends, new and old, who have stuck with me through thick and thin, to my Waco community which has grown greatly, and to the Honors College directors (Dr. Rogers-Sharer, Dr. Villarroel, and Dr. Spano), all of my professors, and the numerous faculty and staff at MCC who have pushed me to succeed in my academic career (there are simply too many to name), I truly couldn’t be more blessed and grateful for your support and love.”

Hannah plans to continue her education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing at the UT Health Houston or the University of Texas at Arlington.

Ian Karl Garron Fitting is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics.

When asked what influenced his academic success, Ian says, “I would like to thank my parents, Hans and Angela, and my brother, Stefan.”

Ian plans to continue his education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in English at Baylor University.

When asked what influenced her academic success, Isabella says, “I would like to thank my family for continually encouraging me as a student of MCC. Likewise, I want to thank my friends for being so supportive during my time here. As a member of Baptist Student Ministries, I would like to thank those who have discipled and mentored me, pushing me to become a more committed follower of God. I would also like to thank each of my professors for such excellent instruction with special thanks to Dr. Reid Makowsky and Professor Elizabeth Mitchell for the ways in which they inspired me to appreciate academics in a new way.”

Isabella plans to continue her education by pursuing a biology degree at Wheaton College.

Jessica Louise Aleman is receiving an Associate of Science in General Academics.

When asked what influenced her academic success, Jessica says, “I first would like to thank my parents for their sacrifices, encouragement, and support that allows me to pursue what I love. Also, I would like to thank professors Stephanie Randell and Diane Schmaus for their influence and guidance in helping me discover a career I love and plan to pursue. Finally, I would like to thank Dr. McKown and Lindsey Vanek for providing me with incredible opportunities and unforgettable memories as a presidential scholar.”

Jessica plans to continue her education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory science through the University of Texas Medical Branch on the MCC campus.

Kaitlyn Bree Bailey is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics.   

When asked what influenced her academic success, Kaitlyn says, “I would like to thank my parents, my boyfriend Micah, and my neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Kerr, for all the love and support they've given me during my time at MCC. I couldn't have done it without them.” 

Kaitlyn plans to continue her education at the University of North Texas.

When asked what influenced her academic success, Lauren says, “I want to thank the Waco Baptist Student Ministries for setting a great example of loving others well. I would also like to thank all of my professors and Dr. McKown. They have strengthened, encouraged, and been gracious to me in many ways! Most importantly, I want to thank Jesus for giving me strength to persevere. I truly cannot succeed in anything without Him!”

Lauren plans to continue her education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in communications at Baylor University.

Siera Mackenzi Ramsey

Siera Mackenzi Ramsey is receiving an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapy Assistant.

When asked what influenced her academic success, Siera says, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Mrs. Davis, Dr. Patterson, and Mrs. Romo for their encouragement throughout the PTA program. I am deeply thankful to Mrs. Gandy, my high school science teacher, whose guidance helped me flourish in college. To my cherished friends, whose companionship made me smile and laugh, I am so thankful. Above all, I owe an immense debt of gratitude to my family and the guiding presence of God, whose unwavering support and love are my pillars of strength and determination. I am eternally grateful for the abundant support I received through this journey.”

Siera plans to embark on her career as a physical therapy assistant, specializing in pelvic floor therapy, and obtain a bachelor’s degree in the next few years.

Zachry Glen Turnbo is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics.  

When asked what influenced his academic success, Zachry says, “I would like to thank my parents, family, and peers for encouraging me to be the best version of myself always, to keep focus on my personal and academic life, and strive to better myself and the people around me.”

Zachry plans to continue his education by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in public relations at the University of Texas at Austin.
