RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT (GRANTS)

The Resource Development department helps McLennan Community College excel by assisting faculty, staff, and administration secure external funds for programs that align with MCC's college’s mission, strategic plan, and/or annual priorities. Resource Development assists with grant research, identifying funding resources, and developing grant proposals to enhance the College’s strategic goals.

Pre-Award

The Resource Development department is primarily focused on pre-award activities includes:

  • Researching funding needs and opportunities
  • Designing fundable projects
  • Assisting faculty, staff, and administration to cure external funds
  • Facilitating an understanding of the grant application process
  • Researching requirements for project performance
  • Preparing and submitting applications
  • Facilitating the Grants Roundtable meetings for grant and contract administrators
  • Ensuring adherence to all college related policies and procedures
  • Overseeing the transition to post-award activities
  • Works together with Project Directors and their respective Deans or VPs throughout the life of the grant project to ensure proper management and compliance

Post-Award

Resource Development works closely with the Office of Financial Services – Director, Associate Director, Senior Grants Accountant and Associate Director, Student Accounts Receivable on post-award activities including:

  • Accounting for financial transactions
  • Financial reporting
  • Providing expenditure compliance guidance
  • Training for managing grants
