I’m a proud Wacoan, a daughter, a sister, a wife of 20 years, and a mom to two incredible daughters. As a First-Generation College Graduate, that milestone holds deep meaning for me, especially because my own journey wasn’t easy. I faced many trials and tribulations growing up, including becoming a teen mom, but those experiences helped shape the person I am today. I am resilient, compassionate, and committed to helping others overcome their own challenges. My passion lies in higher education where I have the privilege of supporting students, especially those who doubt their ability to finish college. Helping them realize that they can achieve their goals is the most rewarding part of my work. I believe that with hard work and the right mindset, anything is possible. I also believe that asking for help is not a sign of weakness but a powerful sign of strength and determination. Outside of work, I find joy in the simple things—spending quality time with my family and friends, sharing laughter, and embracing the small moments that make life meaningful. Comedy is one of my favorite ways to relax; there's something powerful about the way laughter can lift your spirit. I also enjoy listening to music, even if I can't carry a tune, and I love getting creative with arts and crafts, especially crocheting. My three dogs—Bentley, Breezy (Bre), and Nala, are always nearby, keeping things lively. Being outdoors brings me peace, whether I'm camping, fishing, or just enjoying the quiet beauty of nature. Everything I do is grounded in the belief that we all have the power to rise above our circumstances and to help others do the same. |
