Texas Commission on Fire Protection
The Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP) certification exams are administered statewide to individuals seeking firefighter certification in Texas. McLennan Community College Testing Services serves as a proctoring site for TCFP computer-based exams.
Before registering for a date and time for an exam at McLennan Community College, testing candidates must first register for their chosen TCFP exam(s) through their FIDO account and receive their Exam Eligibility Form. If you have any questions about eligibility and testing, contact TCFP at testing@tcfp.texas.gov.
Exam Fee
Taking TCFP exams at MCC consists of two separate purchases:
- TCFP Exam Fee: this exam fee is paid directly to the Texas Commission on Fire Protection through your FIDO account. Exam fees are set by TCFP.
- MCC Proctoring Fee: a $28.50 proctoring fee is paid to McLennan Community College when scheduling your exam through RegisterBlast.
How to Register for your TCFP Exam
- Purchase your TCFP Exam
- Print your TCFP Eligibility Form to bring with you on test day. Test-takers MUST bring the printed TCFP Eligibility Form to the Testing Services department.
- Schedule your exam with MCC Testing Services. Test-takers must schedule an appointment to take the TCFP exam at MCC.
What to Bring on Test Day
A valid, unexpired photo ID is required for all testing. Acceptable forms of government-issued IDs include a driver’s license, state ID card, passport, military ID, national ID, tribal ID, naturalization card, certificate of citizenship, or permanent resident card (Green Card). A photo or photocopy of an ID is not acceptable.
Print your TCFP Eligibility Form to bring with you on test day. Test-takers MUST bring the printed TCFP Eligibility Form to the Testing Services department.
