My project costs money; how can I pay for my project?

Several grants are available through HURI. Complete and submit the HURI application to huri@mclennan.edu.

  • Type I Grants: These cover supplies from $20-$50. Students may apply for this type of grant once a semester and are not limited to the number of times they can be awarded a Type I grant.
  • Type II Grants: These cover the cost of supplies from $51-$250. Students may apply for this type of grant once per calendar year and are not limited to the number of times they can be awarded a Type II grant.
  • Type III Grants: These cover the cost of student travel and supplies to showcase research, i.e., scientific conferences. (Type III grants cannot be used to cover the course fee of travel research courses.) Travel awards are up to $500. Students can receive a Type III grant only once.

Along with the grant application, students must submit an outline of their research, a recommendation (for type II and III grants) and a transcript (for type II and III grants).
