Major ISS projects are listed below by status. *Modified Due Date (MDD): When a project deliverable/end date must be adjusted because of scope, resource, or scheduling constraints, the revised deadline will be labeled as the MDD.

  1. Colleague Modernization (transition to cloud-hosted)

    End date: January 2028

    Status: Project Charter Due 12/13/25

    McLennan Community College (MCC) is modernizing its enterprise resource planning (ERP) system by transitioning Ellucian Colleague from an on-premises environment to a secure, cloud-hosted platform. This modernization initiative enhances system reliability, scalability, and cybersecurity while reducing local infrastructure dependencies. The cloud migration supports improved performance, business continuity, and long-term alignment with state and federal data protection standards, ensuring a more resilient and efficient foundation for student services, finance, and administrative operations.

  2. Colleague/Slate Integration

    End date: September 2024 (MDD*: 12/30/25)

    Status: Underway

    This initiative aims to select a vendor for professional services to integrate Ellucian Colleague and Technolutions Slate. This will enable the Admissions and Recruiting Department to easily track applications, document submissions, and interact with prospective students. Prospective students will receive an improved and efficient experience while fulfilling the requirements for admission.

  3. Email Transition to Office 365 (Exchange Online)

    End date: December 2026

    Status: Underway

    McLennan Community College (MCC) is transitioning all faculty, staff, and student email to Microsoft Exchange Online (Office 365). This project consolidates the college’s existing systems, Exchange 2019 for employees and Google Workspace for students, into a unified, secure, and cloud-based environment.

    The migration supports MCC’s 2025-2030 Strategic Plan by enhancing communication, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening security with multi-factor authentication, advanced spam protection, and seamless integration with Teams and OneDrive. Students and employees will benefit from larger mailbox capacities, shared calendars, and consistent tools for collaboration and remote learning. The project will be completed with minimal disruption to academic operations and aligns with MCC’s commitment to investing in modern, safe, and reliable technology infrastructure.
