Request a Coach

Success Coaches are happy to help you with student self-referrals, faculty/staff referrals for students, or presentations on the resources offered to students through Success Coaching Services.

Students: Are you ready to meet a Success Coach?

Complete a self-referral, call 254-299-8226, or come by our office, located on the second floor of the Student Services building, to set up an appointment.

Your student username is your two initials and student ID number with no spaces.

Faculty/Staff: Would you like to refer a student?

If you believe a student would be a good candidate for coaching, please speak with the student about our services. Coaching is most beneficial when a student is motivated to engage and follow through with the coaching process. Encouraging them to connect with us directly (and early) is the first step.

If you believe a student could benefit from a coach reaching out by phone/text/email, and/or you have any of the following academic concerns, please complete a referral.

Common reasons for referrals:

  • Concern about student's attendance (absences/tardies), performance (grades), or participation (missing/late assignments, etc.)
  • Concern about student's financial circumstances (including food, shelter, or transportation)
  • Concern about student's motivation
  • Student needs assistance with study strategies, writing, or quantitative skills

For all other concerns, please visit Concern for Students, or give us a call if you are unsure whether you should refer: 254-299-8226.

Would you like someone from Success Coaching Services to present for a class, student group, or faculty/staff meeting?

Please use this form to request a presentation from a general Success Coach, the Support & Empowerment Program, or the First Generation Scholars Program.

We ask that you submit presentation requests at least 2 weeks in advance, though we will still do our best to accommodate later requests. Presentations are customizable, so please specify what topic(s) you would like a coach to address. Common topics include:

  • Overview of Success Coaching Services (includes SEP & Paulanne's Pantry)
  • Time Management
  • Stress Management
  • Test Anxiety/Test-Taking Tips
