Schedule an Exam

To help minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the MCC Testing Center is currently unable to offer in-person testing services. Please let us know how we can support you during this unusual time by emailing testingcenter@mclennan.edu, texting 254-735-1910, or calling 254-299-8453. All calls and messages are answered Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Exam Updates:

  • The MCC Testing Center is now offering the TSIA and Accuplacer exams through virtual online testing through Examity. Before scheduling your appointment, you should verify your computer meets the minimum system requirements to successfully complete your test. First, go to www.accuplacer.org and click Verify System Requirements, located at the bottom of the page. Second, go to Examity Computer Readiness Check. Lastly,  you will need to have speakers, a microphone, and a webcam in order to test. ***Please note: An email with instructions regarding your testing appointment will be sent AFTER the MCC Testing Center verifies you have completed the mandatory Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA) for those taking the TSIA exam. If you have not completed MCC's PAA, please click here.***
  • The MCC Testing Center is now offering the Math Placement Exam through virtual online testing (Zoom). Before scheduling your appointment, you should verify your computer meets the minimum system requirements to successfully complete your test, which are speakers, a microphone, and a webcam. ***Please note: An email with instructions regarding your testing appointment will be sent within 24-business hours after you schedule your testing appointment.***
  • Students who need to take exams for an MCC course should contact their professors directly. Students with accommodations requests should email disabilities@mclennan.edu.

The Testing Center is unable to provide access to the following exams at this time:

  • ATI TEAS -- The ATI TEAS entrance exam has been waived for MCC's Radiology Technology, Surgical Technology, and Veterinary Technology programs for the June 2020 application deadline.
  • CLEP
  • Correspondence Exams
  • HESI -- The MCC LVN program has waived the HESI entrance exam for the June 1, 2020 application deadline.
  • HiSET
  • PSB -- The PSB entrance exam has been waived for the MCC LVN to RN transition program for the March 31, 2020 application deadline, and the MCC ADN program for the May 28, 2020 application deadline.
  • MSSC-CPT
  • TCFP Certification Exams

EXAMS SCHEDULING THROUGH REGISTERBLAST

For your convenience, testing candidates can register for all exams online through RegisterBlast. RegisterBlast is a quick, easy and confidential way for all testing candidates to register, pay (if applicable) and confirm an appointment to complete testing.

HOW TO SCHEDULE AN EXAM

  1. Click on the correct "Schedule an Exam" link below
  2. MCC Students will sign-in using their MCC username and password (should be the same as WebAdvisor & Brightspace).
    Non-MCC Students will continue registering as a guest
  3. Select your test from the group(s).
  4. Choose your exam and read any important exam information.
  5. Select the accommodations you wish to use on this registration, if applicable.
  6. Select an exam date and time.
  7. Enter your personal information.
  8. Carefully read and acknowledge the exam guidelines.
  9. Enter the additional needed information.
  10. Select "Add to Cart." If you have additional exams to register for, select "+Add Another Exam" and repeat steps 3-10.
  11. Select "Ready to Checkout"
  12. Submit payment for any necessary fees. (Note: Testing fees vary based upon exam type)
  13. Select "Complete Registration."

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY & CHEATING

Any test candidate giving or receiving assistance in any form on an examination, found to have unauthorized materials or items or who violates any security policies will be reported to the testing company, course instructor, and MCC’s Academic Integrity Officer.

SURVEILLANCE

Testing candidates are monitored in the Testing Center in the following ways:

  • Testing staff serve as human proctors by physically walking inside the testing rooms, including behind all testing stations.
  • All tests are monitored using computer monitoring software which observes and tracks the operations and activities of users.
  • All testing sessions are recorded and video is gathered by cameras throughout the Testing Center which are networked to a secure server in the McLennan Community College Testing Center and Campus Police. Access to the feeds are restricted and are monitored from desktops of testing and campus police staff workstations.

Recorded computer usage and video footage is shared with testing companies, course instructors, and MCC’s Academic Integrity Officer upon request, when an incident report is filed.

TESTING CENTER GUIDELINES

  • All students are responsible for registering for their exams through the RegisterBlast scheduling system. (Space is limited)
  • Students requiring testing accommodations must register first with Accommodations. The registration process with Accommodations should be done in a timely manner to allow enough reasonable time for the Testing Center to prepare all testing accommodations. Once testing accommodations have been approved, the student must inform the MCC Testing Center of her or his approved testing accommodations, so their RegisterBlast account can be appropriately set-up prior to registering for an exam. Students who do not follow these steps run the risk of not having their accommodations for that exam. Note: Any student who has approved accommodations and who cannot see their approved testing accommodations after logging into RegisterBlast and while registering for an exam should contact the MCC Testing Center immediately and prior to registering for any exams.
  • A valid, unexpired photo ID is required for all testing. Acceptable forms of government-issued IDs include a driver’s license, state ID card, passport, military ID, national ID, tribal ID, naturalization card, certificate of citizenship, or permanent resident card (Green Card). A photo or photocopy of an ID is not acceptable. Photos must be clear and recognizable. Student IDs are acceptable for the following exams: MCC MPE, MCC Course Exams, Correspondence Exams, and TSIA.
  • Students should only bring items approved for testing. All items that are not approved for testing, will be stored in a secured locker provided by the testing center. This includes sunglasses, hats/caps, headcovers/wraps (headbands, scrunches, and clips are allowed), backpacks, bags, purses, hooded garments, jackets/coats, watches, bracelets, food/drinks, unauthorized calculators, unauthorized textbooks and study materials, cell phones, or any device which can receive or transmit a wireless signal (unless permitted as a medically documented device, authorized testing accommodation, or for religious purposes). Note: All electronic devices should be powered off when it is stored in a locker. The MCC Testing Center assumes no liability for lost or stolen items.
  • Student may not access his/her personal belongings or leave the Testing Center without permission once testing has begun.
  • Students should know their login credentials to take their exam.
  • The MCC Testing Center is not able to accommodate open book/open note exams. Exceptions can be made for students with authorized accommodations. This does not include index cards, professor provided formula sheets, or mandated course materials that are required to complete the exam and approved ahead of time by the Testing Center (e.g., coding manual).
  • Students should arrive 10 minutes before their scheduled appointment time.
  • Students who arrive more than 10 minutes past their scheduled appointment time are considered late, will not be allowed to test, and will be required to register for a new testing appointment.
  • MCC Testing Center fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Students will be required to schedule a new appointment and repay any testing center fees, if they do not reschedule prior to their scheduled appointment time, arrive late, or do not show for their scheduled appointment.
  • No talking is permitted during testing in the testing room.
  • Calculators permitted for specific exams only and subject to inspection. Note: Student provided calculators must be a handheld calculator that is not a part of a prohibited device. Calculator covers are not allowed.
  • All tests and testing materials will be picked up 10 minutes prior to closing.
  • Examinees may not remove any tests, test materials, notes, or scratch paper from the Testing Center.
  • Acts of dishonesty are reported.
  • Only the exam candidate is allowed in the Testing Center. Children under the age of 18 are not allowed to be left unattended in the Testing Center or any other area of the college during testing.

TESTING ACCOMMODATIONS

The MCC Testing Center works closely with the Accommodations Office (Disability Services) to provide services for students with ADA accommodations. Testing candidates requiring testing accommodations must register first with Accommodations. The registration process with Accommodations should be done in a timely manner to allow enough reasonable time for the Testing Center to prepare all testing accommodations.

Once testing accommodations have been approved, the student must inform the MCC Testing Center of her or his approved testing accommodations, so their RegisterBlast account can be appropriately set-up prior to registering for an exam. Students who do not follow these steps run the risk of not having their testing accommodations for that exam.
