Sigma Phi Sigma

Sigma Phi Sigma is MCC's local chapter of the American Criminal Justice Association. Any MCC or Tarleton State University student enrolled in a criminal justice program can join. The group is one of the most active student organizations on campus, known for community service, educational trips, and fundraising.

Members give back to the community through events like:

Educational Trips

Members visit real-world criminal justice settings, including:

  • State and federal prisons
  • Angola Penitentiary in Louisiana
  • The United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans
  • Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office
  • Fort Worth Police Department

Chapter Goals

Sigma Phi Sigma works to:

  1. Improve criminal justice through educational activities.
  2. Foster professionalism in law enforcement personnel and agencies.
  3. Promote professional, academic, and public awareness of criminal justice issues.
  4. Encourage the establishment and expansion of higher education and professional training in criminal justice.
  5. Provide a unified voice for professionals and students of criminal justice.
  6. Promote high standards of ethical conduct, professional training, and higher education within the criminal justice field.
