Accessibility Assistance for Commencement Exercises

Accessibility Assistance

Commencement organizers provide a number of services for guests who need a helping hand. In order to meet all needs, and we urge you to contact us at if you or a member of your party requires assistance on commencement day.

Guests with Limited Mobility

We strive to make the ceremony comfortable and accessible for all graduates and guests. The Waco Convention Center is accessible, however, an early arrival is recommended as seating for patrons with limited mobility will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

For Commencement ceremonies taking place at the Waco Convention Center:

The Washington Avenue entrance of the Waco Convention Center is an optimum location to drop individuals off who have mobility limitations. Elevators and escalators are available on level one of the building.

Chairs are available on level two (Franklin Avenue entrance), where guests can wait while drivers park cars and rejoin their parties. Ushers can direct guests to designated seating.

For Commencement ceremonies taking place at Baylor University’s Ferrell Center:

Parking lots at the Ferrell Center are accessible from both University Parks Drive and LaSalle Avenue. Parking for guests with limited mobility is located near the Daughtrey Street entrance off University Parks Drive. Please visit the Ferrell Center’s website for more information.

Guests with Hearing Impairments

The college’s commencement exercises will include interpreting services.

Upon request, ushers will direct guests with hearing impairments to designated seating. To accommodate everyone’s needs, large parties may be asked to separate, with some patrons watching the ceremony from a general seating area.
