Health Education System, INC (HESI)
The Health Education System, Inc. (HESI) exam is part of the admissions process for MCC's LVN program, the MCC LVN to Tarleton State's BSN program, and MCC's ADN program.
Exam Fee
The exam costs $81.00, plus a $3.50 service feeTesting Services fees cannot be refunded or transferred. If you miss your test, arrive late, or do not reschedule before your test time, you must make a new appointment and pay the fees again.
Register for The HESI Exam
Use the link below to sign up and pay for your HESI exam. You must register at least 2 business days before your test date. We strongly suggest you register 2 to 4 weeks early. Seats are limited; register early to save your spot.
Retest
We strongly suggest you wait 30 days before retesting. Use this time to study and prepare. You can find study materials and practice tests in the RESOURCES section below.
- Students applying to MCC's LVN program are permitted to take the HESI A2 three (3) times per application cycle.
- Students applying to MCC's ADN program are permitted to take the HESI A2 two (2) times per application cycle.
If you take the test more times than allowed during an application cycle, those test scores will not count, and you will lose your exam fees.
What to Bring on Test Day
You must bring a valid, unexpired photo ID. Acceptable forms of government-issued IDs include:
- Driver's license
- State ID card
- Passport
- Military ID
- National ID
- Tribal ID
- Naturalization card
- Certificate of citizenship
- Permanent resident card (Green Card)
Photos or copies of IDs are not allowed. The photo must be clear and easy to recognize.
Student IDs are allowed only for these exams: ALEKS Exam, MCC Course Exams, Correspondence Exams, and TSIA.
You will use a calculator on the computer during the test.
Scores
You will get your score report after you finish the exam. You can also download your scores and order official score transcripts through your HESI Evolve account at www.evolve.elsevier.com
Testing Schedule
The HESI starts on time at the listed hours below. Arrive 15-20 minutes early to check in.
If you arrive less than 15 minutes before your test time, you will not be allowed to test. You must register in advance.

Testing Accommodations
Testing Services works with Accommodations (Disability Services) to help students who need accommodations. You must first register with Disability Services. Do this early so there is enough time to set up your accommodations.
After approval, tell Testing Services about your accommodations. They will update your RegisterBlast account before you sign up for your exam. If you do not follow these steps, you may not receive your accommodations.

For Students From Another College or University:
Your school must send a Letter of Accommodation to Testing Services before you can receive accommodations. Email it to testingservices@mclennan.edu or fax to 254-299-6200 Attn: Testing Services.
If you have approved accommodations but cannot see them when you register, contact the MCC Testing Center right away before signing up.
