Clinical Practice
All Health Information Technology students must complete supervised clinical hours as part of the program. Here is what you need to know:
When & Where
- Clinical hours are completed during your final semester.
- Sites are located within a 200-mile radius of Waco.
- You must be able to travel to your assigned site. Transportation costs are your responsibility.
Insurance
- Professional liability insurance is required before your first clinical.
- You purchase it through MCC when you register for HITT 2261.
- Personal health insurance is strongly encouraged.
Required Documentation
Before starting your first clinical, you must provide:- Current physical examination
- Current immunizations
- Tuberculosis (TB) skin test or chest X-ray
- Drug screen results
- Criminal background check
All costs for required documentation are the student's responsibility.
